Itinerary description

El Qasr Ammiq
Easy 12km trail in the warm sunshine that started parking near to Tawlet Ammiq restaurant where we joined a well marked track giving fantastic views over the plains of the Beqaa and the snow covered mountains behind and in front. The trail takes you around the Skaff Villa, through the gorgeous pine forest and leading eventually down to the main entrance to Ammiq wetlands. Walking through the wetlands the lack of rain is terribly apparent. We met up with a herd of around 15-20 Italian Buffalo which are especially known for milk used to produce of mozarella. The wetland exit brings us to the main road, just opposite the turning to Tawlet Ammiq. The last km being on the asphalt road so we decided to stop the recording.
