This walk starts at the southern end of the fortifications, and heads north, then returns and continues east to the water. The main cycle/walking path tends to run along the eastern edge of the rampart, with a walking track typically on the top of the rampart. Some of the fortifications (the ones associated with the water) are best found via the path along the top of the rampart (because they are on the western side of the rampart), the other fortifications are best found on the cycle/walking track.
I walked north as far as Broendbyskoven (a forest) and this in itself has a huge network of cycle/walking paths through it. I walked through a part of the forest to get a feel for it and then headed back.
The approach that I used to provide a circular walk was to walk one way on the top of the rampart and return via the cycle/walking path. This was very successful. The top of the rampart is a very intimate walk, with forest and a narrow path.
There is also a 'planetary walk' that starts with PLUTO and goes east and then north up the coast to take in the entire solar system on a scale basis. This could also be a very nice walk in the area.
Note: Copenhagen is the European Green Capital 2014. Copenhagen Green is a guide to 100 green locations in greater Copenhagen. It is a great source for things to see and do in Copenhagen. See www.copenhagengreen.dk for all the information on the locations. There is a large format book, small guide books and also an ebook that contains information for all the locations.
